WebMy ferritin is low too (11), with normal hemoglobin, and has been for years. I don't eat red meat, but even when I did, it was at the same low level. I take iron supplements but they seem to make no difference. I'm a 44 year old woman, normal periods. My dad also has very low ferritin (9) and normal hemoglobin, yet he eats red meat regularly.
