WebChitting basically means placing the potatoes in a cool and bright frost free space. You don't want it to be too warm or the shoots will be long and weak, 10 degrees C is about right. If you are doing small amounts you can place the seed potatoes in egg boxes but if you are chitting larger numbers a crate with a slatted bottom is ideal.
